I've learned some people will try to hawk their knock-off goods pretty much anywhere.
And that lemons are the genetic opposite of oranges.

Did you know that all citrus plants are the same species? They're all just different cultivars/varieties, which is why they can all be crossed with one another. Except kumquats I think; they're slightly different.

I learned that most of my classmates who have met me think I'm scared of them, & some people who haven't met me are intimidated by me & have a negative impression on me.  =?

Weird. lol.

That the FreeBSD port of the GCC compiler has a *very* incomplete implementation of the C99 standard.

I just realized this after spending the last 2 hours writing code assuming the compiler was more up to date than it is. Time to add that functionality...

Except kumquats I think; they're slightly different.

I don't think I've ever encountered a kumquat, and therefore view them with suspicion and dread.

I've learned that:
-if you wear a namebadge with a funny looking foreign name to work, people are less inclined to talk to you. Cheers, Yevgeni
-Libyans like to fire their guns when they are happy, sad, or hungry
-magic mushrooms do actually look like they just fell out of Super Mario

They're like tiny oranges. Except the peels are sweet and the insides are sour. So a lot of people only eat the peels. :)

The soundtrack 'My name is Lincoln' was used in Avatar's trailer but not in the movie. Instead, it was used in the movie The Island. A masterpiece..

What i have discovered today...

After a Wikipedia session ending on the page about backmasking, i played the following Pendulum songs in reverse out of curiosity.

- Midnight runner - enjoying what the last 3 minutes of the song played normally sounds like backwards
- Through the loop - really enjoying what an aggressive beast the song has turned into with the lyrics at the start and  end removed.
- Out here
- The vulture
- Streamline
- Girl in the fire

and they still sound great - at least in my mind, even thinking of mashing them together somehow in some kind of wierd reverse music mix, now i am going to do this to the rest of my music collection.

Finished listening to the lecture series on 'Ancient Civilizations'.

There were no prisons in the ancient world (pre-medieval). There simply was not enough surplus food for the prisoners hence the punishments were swift and brutal.  :icon_killbill:

On lighter note, Beavis and Butthead are coming back.

Today I learned that a guy I met and dated at university was actually a closet gay!  He's now out.  This revelation has left me with a strange and perplexing feeling...

Should I trust my own judgment?  The signs were definitely there and I did become suspicious, but he hid it rather well!  Hmmm...  Well I'm happy for him, anyway.  Apart from the fact that he was only pretending to like girls (including me), he was a kind and sweet person, who deserves to be happy.

Just another bizarre chapter in my so far sad and pathetic love life   :azn:

I learned that hooking up a wireless device at home which I used to type this message is alot harder. The Telco asked basically all my personal information. Weird thing is, the operator said my phone number before I had a chance to present it.
It also means I'm chewing 1.5 Gig out of the 2 I got free. I haven't updated my computer for a 1.8 years, missing 3 drive updates and numerous anti-virus updates.
Good now though.

Never knew they had flying ferris wheels down there.

Everyone survived the crash, the two children on the Ferris wheel and the elderly man and child in the plane.
And yes, we have Ferris Wheels here.
I learned that I can be wrong sometimes.

And that removing the DRM from games and music you already have isn't illegal.

Flying ferris wheels. I was trying to make a lame joke about the wheel getting up in the air and getting hit by the plane. Nevermind. It's all good, my friend.

I've always, always wondered what makes myself perceive a person attractive. Often, when I walk along the streets I'll see both attractive and not so attractive people and this confuses my perception. Why is that so? What makes a person attractive and how do I measure attractiveness?

A symmetrical face is the main criteria when considering a person attractive. A person with average body features are considered to be more attractive and this is because they are supposed to be healthier with all of the common traits. There are certainly other factors that contributes to this.
