I want to move.
« on: January 02, 2011, 12:46:18 AM »
To Newfoundland, the St. John's area.

I'm not going to do it right away, I have to plan it out. My family will be heart broken but I have nothing else stopping me or holding me back.

I know a trade passed onto me from my father so I could find work doing that.

I would love to have an ocean view home or even just a pond view home, something small and isolated but with a guest bedroom incase family visit.

My reason is to call it my home, a beautiful place called Newfoundland.

Hey Faaip, that may be a good idea, sometimes all you need is a change.

I can't do it, my family would probably disown me.

I'm not that close to any them, I don't talk about my problems or anything, but I know they would be there for me if I ever need them, whether they understand or not..

and I have this one niece, she's only six months old but she's so beautiful :) I can't miss her growing up, even if I end up just being that weird loner uncle, at least I can say I'll be there for her

so my new solution to getting away from this boring place is to travel to far away places via something like contiki tours or just going alone..

only for 2-3 weeks at a time, once a year, that'll give the space that I need

I'm gunna start this time next year with New Zealand

You should look at this website, it's free and you get to meet peoples from different places and learn from them. And you could be that "weird loner uncle" that tell her a lot of traveling stories x)

Hey Faaip,

Ontario isn't really that far away from Newfoundland, especially if you live in the east side of Ontario. (Well, I was just looking at your profile info which says you live in Ontario).

Here is a favorite quote of mine from Mark Twain:
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did so. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
Where you come from is gone, where you thought you were going to was never there, and where you are is no good unless you can get away from it. Where is there a place for you to be? No place... Nothing outside you can give you any place... In yourself right now is all the place you've got.

I live an hour from Niagara Falls so I'm close to the New York border... that's halfway across the country

you're right about one thing...one day I might regret not making the move

but I won't regret sacrificing my freedom to be around the only people who love
