Good luck  :icon_meditation:
If looking down is a sign of submission
I think at first that it is a sign of prudence and happiness
Because it's only by looking down
That we can avoid obstacles
And so, by chance, collect some lost treasures

Roses are red
Violets are blue
I'm a loner
And so are you

Sorry, but I said your poem needs to be made by YOU and ONLY YOU!  You know that the original is so much longer? And it was made for VALENTINE'S DAY. Good choice for a loner! If you want, you can see it in the Gammer Gurton's Garland...

So people, if you vote for it (I know this is a really good poem) it will don't even count.

I'll be gentle with you... You can have an other chance. You can now post an other poem if you want.

Good luck...

I try to deflect reflections and erect statues with words,
I'll show you my sculptures, my gods, my love, my hate.
This text is an x-ray and I am the only doctor,
With solitude as my brother and solace as a mother
It is in my nature to worship mother nature.
Don't you see that the branches resemble nerve endings?
I need the ones around me? Am I just pretending?
Am I putting up curtains on the windows to my soul
Since my eyes are closed and and I've learned to play another role?

Who will I be? The smiles beguile them or course,
Without telescopes their knowledge hangs from ropes
And those necks crack when I erupt from behind my shadow.
Chameleons usually never shed skin
But I have evolved and I've got more colors than sins....
Who's counting?
Is there a number for how many leaves you could rake?
Trees will grow them again, laughing at how futile numbers can be.
Maybe then I will see....is a Loner the name for me?

passing down the alley, stopping by the entrance
with the yellow beer light and crackling beneath my shoe
i grasp my pack of cigarettes inside my raincoat
before walking through the door like every night before
i'm smiling with irony, got disrespect for everything
though there's nothing much at all underneath this snide facade
i hide this ill-at-ease with a couple shots of whiskey
and i drop off into the basement underneath the scene
where jerry's got a special something waiting for me
i made it to the big time, but i'm glad they can't see
because the things i do in this sweating room
are the things i wanted, but was afraid to tell you
so i'm gasping for air on the sidewalk, catching my breathe
as i sit between parked cars singing the radio tunes
the deadbeats fall out of their homes, like vermin, like me
we can see with our heads facing down, we're the midnight clowns
we're the scum of the nation, we're the weeds of the earth
this isn't alienation, but our proper station we receive
so bow down with your head in the gutter like a sinner in church
you knew you'd have to purge these things you kept inside
and you lay down with your skull on the concrete and a head full of stars
don't know where you are, but it doesn't really matter in this state
yea, it doesn't really matter, and i love to loathe to be this way

well, that was fun.
