Have them and love it.

I don't want to drive around in a fishbowl.

Need privacy to be anywhere near comfortable in town.

Any time I get a car that's the very first thing that I do. Here 35% is the legal limit, anything less you may have trouble getting a inspection sticker. I used to always do the darkest, 5%. That shit is dark. I was lucky cause I knew a guy who would hook me up with a sticker. But yeah, tinted windows a definate must..

It had never occured to me. And you don't see many cars with tinted windows around here  :icon_nif: why tint your car windows?

where I come from, there's a few reasons to tint your windows...

maybe you wanna creep on people as you drive along and if your windows are tinted, they can't see you creeping!
or... maybe you like your privacy and you don't want people creeping on you while you're driving along!

some people do it for aesthetic reasons where as lets say that you just bought a brand new bright white Audi TT off the lot... said Audi might look better with tinted windows. It's a matter of personal taste, some people go as far as to tint their tail lights or headlights even. Again that comes down to a matter of personal taste.

others do it to keep harmful and damaging UV rays out of their cars since they have UV ray resistant tints too.

all of these reasons apply to me and just about anyone else who has tinted windows.
I have tints on my modern truck but not on my classic car. Reason being is that there is something like a stigma when it comes to putting tints on a car that comes from an era where tints like what we have today weren't very common, it would take away from the "originality" and thus make it harder to sell one day if the interested buyer is a "purest".
...and what you decide to do every day, you will be a good man - or not.

You understand fine. I need my privacy.

Dark as legally possible, on 2 different Chevy half-tons. Silverado. Black, regular cab.

Bah, but you can't really see very well who is inside a car when it is moving, but I guess I understand the aesthetic reasons.

nice, I have an extended cab Silverado, 2500 HD with the turbo diesel Duramax/Allison transmission but reg cab, half-ton gassers are cool too

well you can see them if you're all stopped at a street light that takes forever to change green, people get bored and start to look at the people around them. it's weird to look over and find that the person in the car next to you has been staring for the past few minutes...

I get it, but it's a strange notion for me, I never see cars with tinted windows around here.

Faaip, that sounds nice. You must be pulling some big loads.

I need 4x4 and light pulling.

I don't pull that often... I couldn't if I tried... well I could but not legally lol
the trailer brake controller module is burnt out so that means no power to the trailer (no lights or brakes)
it must have shorted something out the last time I hooked my dads trailer up to it.
It's a $600 fix to switch out the module but I'm gunna leave it till next season, hoping the price of the module will go down.

the reason I bought the diesel is because I like the power plant, it's more fuel efficient and if taken care of, the motor will probably out last the truck! One day I'll buy my own enclosed trailer but that will only happen when we have the room to park it.

I take really good care of my truck, I don't use 4x4 that often since I never go into fields but it gets me around a lot easier in the winter after a fresh snowfall.
